what's good + what's possible

I believe it is my duty to do the very least or the very most I am able to help others in need, all over the world.

I believe the smallest act of kindness, given or received, has the power to restore hope in the greatest of ways.
So remember to pass on a smile, even if it's the very least you're able to give, it could mean the very most to the one who gets it.

Their mission statement says it best. It's a wonderful foundation at the top of my list for obvious reasons.

I'd always given before, but now I try to give more.
My mother was directly affected by Katrina and the Salvation Army was a saving grace during the most trying times. They delivered hot food, water, blankets, clothes, toothpaste - whatever needed to get by. They were the first relief responders to arrive on location, pushing their way through streets not yet cleared of massive debris. This was in Slidell, which suffered a direct hit and a 30' tidal surge from Lake Pontchartrain during the worst of the storm.

Adam Verbal - Home Depot, Riverview FL

Thank you Adam for helping to arrange a much needed bulk shipment of masks, gloves and paper towels to the flood victims of Iowa. It took a lot of research and patience to get the proper materials for the job. Adam executed it with a smile and also arranged for Home Depot to cover the freight costs without my even asking. Thank you Adam for doing more than just "your job".

If you'd like to help the folks in Iowa - you can reach the Cedar Rapids Salvation Army at 319-396-6608 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. They were very helpful in letting me know what was needed at that very moment - whether manpower, supplies or donations.

Cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, masks and gloves are some of the items they'd mentioned as of June 16, 2008. But a quick call in case you're considering might be best. It's a great way to send immediate assistance to the right people so it helps those who need it most.

Thanks for always considering to do the right thing.
